Michael Lee Tauscher, 59, of Bluffton, passed away in his home Thursday, November 10, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Rivera, California, on October 14, 1957, to Murray Leon Tauscher and Lillian Geneavee Ford. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran who served during the Gulf War in Desert Storm. Following his service to our country, he became a commercial driver. He will be remembered for the love and devotion he showed for his wife, Karen, and for the fondness and love of his family, friends and country. He is survived by his wife, Karen Sharpe Tauscher; son, Michael Anthony Tauscher, brothers; John and Matthew Tauscher, sister, Jodie Tauscher; stepchildren: Jenn Galara, Kurt Kuchenbrod, and Kendra Kuchenbrod; and grandchildren, Gideon Tauscher; and step-grandchildren: Allyssa Stewart, and Carter Joan Kuchenbrod. A small ceremony was held in his honor at his home. His remains will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in his honor to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910, and/or The Wounded Warriors Project.
