Miguel Angel Arrieta

Miguel Angel Arrieta, 67, of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away on June 14th. Born in Mendoza, Argentina to Tomas and Carmen Arrieta. He is survived by his son, Michael (Shelia) Arrieta of Portal, GA, daughters Denise (Joseph) Burdick of Rincon, GA, and Jakelin (Gar) John of Fort Stewart, GA. Grandsons Jason Corbin, Joseph Jr. and Matthew Burdick. Granddaughters Cassie Corbin, Hope Burdick, and Gabriella Carmen John. Former wife and long time friend Nilda Arrieta. He is also survived by brothers Guillermo (Ninfa) Arrieta of Argentina, Hugo (Irma) Arrieta of Hilton Head. Sisters Hilda (Pilar)Quintero of Argentina, Elva (Vicente) Quintieri of Sarasota, Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, brother Oscar, and Granddaughter Hope. Miguel was a naturalized citizen that moved to the United States in 1970, became an island resident in 1977. He worked for Fitzgerald's for many years and later started his own landscaping business. He was a hard working man that enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. His house was always full of joy, Budweiser's, and his memorable witty remarks. He was kind, generous, and well loved. A special thanks to the Kennedy Family and Hilton Head Island EMS. Donations can be given to the Cancer Awareness Foundation of Bluffton, SC. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 19th at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, SC. Reception following at Hugo's Steak and Seafood at South Island Square.
