Mike Klimczak

Mike Klimczak, age 62, of Hilton Head Island, SC and formerly of Huntington, IN died Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Mr. Klimczak was born on March 17, 1954 in La Porte, IN, the son of the late Stanley and Evelyn Lipps Klimczak. He was a 1976 graduate of the University of Iowa where he played the position of offensive lineman with the Hawkeyes football team. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in education from Purdue University. During his formal education he subsequently worked as a fireman until an injury forced him back to his true calling, teaching. He taught for many years at Norwell Middle School where he also coached football. Mr. Klimczak was preceded in death by his brother, Stan Klimczak. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Sharon Klimczak; daughter, Katie Rhea-Klimczak; brother, Pat Klimczak; and 4 grandchildren.
