Mildred M. Pointon

Mildred M. Pointon a resident of Bluffton SC for 24 years, passed away on October 13, 2020 at the age of 89.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years Robert A. Pointon; her brother Thomas Girman; her children Kathryn Wavra, Thomas Kupp, Nancy Brakso, Edward Kupp, Scott Pointon, David Pointon, and Karen Demeter; 17 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.  She was born in Trenton NJ, graduated from Rider College, and lived in Robbinsville NJ for 34 yrs where she taught elementary school before retiring to Bluffton.  Mildred was an active member of The Church of the Cross and participated in numerous fundraising events.  She also volunteered in the Church Office and God’s Goods Thrift Store.  She enjoyed many years of playing golf at several local courses that included a personal highlight — a ‘hole in one’.  A limited seating service will be held at the Historic Campus of The Church of The Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton.  Please call the office for seating reservations (843) 757-2661.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mildred Pointon to The Church of the Cross.
