Mildred Smith Stanley

Mildred Smith Stanley, 84 of Grays, SC and widow of Ralph Stanley, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at her home. Mildred was born in Grays, SC on June 24, 1932 to the late Leon Smith and Lottie Chassereau Smith. She was a member of the Nixville Baptist Church; former member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church; enjoyed arranging flowers, crochet and church activities. Mildred is survived by her son, Benjamin Stanley (Melinda) of Grays, SC; daughter in law, Sarah Ann Stanley of Nixville, SC; sister in law, Carolyn Smith of Early Branch, SC; sisters, Miriam Burgess of Maple Grove, MN and Ellen Etheridge (Henry) of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Rodney, Keith, Timmy, Joy, Tonya, Chad, Brian, Rhett, Dana and nineteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Marion Stanley and Phillip Stanley; daughter, Joyce Stanley; and brother, Cootie Smith. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Nixville Baptist Church, Nixville, SC with burial in the Beaver Dam Cemetery, Grays, SC.
