Minnie “Katherine” (Morris) Ormsbee, born July 3rd, 1937, went to be with the Lord February 18th, 2017 following a long battle with cancer at her son’s home under the care of Hospice, Friends of Caroline. Katherine was born in Bluffdale, Texas. She moved to South Carolina in 2014 residing with her oldest son, Alan.
Katherine is preceded in death by her sister, Juanita (Alfred) Dean and brother, Harris “Stick” Morris. She is survived by her brother, Charles (Betsy) Morris, sons Alan (Dolores) Orsmbee and Clyde Ronald (Lisa) Orsmbee Jr., and daughter Anna Loraine (Kent) Taylor. She has four grandchildren, Tom (Tammy) Ormsbee, Adam (Amanda) Ormsbee, Clyde Ronald “Trey” (Mary) Orsmbee, and Kay (Dennis) Ormsbee with five great-grandchildren, Thomas, Timothy, Sean, Colin, and Kinsley.
Katherine was a life-member of the VFW Auxiliary and of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary 287 Fort Worth, Texas. She attended First Baptist Church of Briar in Azle, Texas while living with her son, Ronald and attended Red Dam Baptist Church in Hardeeville, SC.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Red Dam Baptist Church, 488 Red Dam Church Rd, Hardeeville, South Carolina. Then her ashes will be returned to Texas for burial.
Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with arrangements.
