Nada Fort Williams

Nada Fort Williams, age 91 of Coosawhatchie, SC and widow of Wilbur Williams passed away at the home of her daughter and son in law in Sheldon, SC on February 17, 2016. Nada was born in Lenox, GA on June 14, 1924 to the late Isaac Fort and Lillian Sanders Fort. Nada was the Executive Assistant to F.A. Nimmer Jr. Real Estate Development for the past 48 years. Nada was the oldest member of the Coosawhatchie Baptist Church where she served on the Building Committee. She was a former member and Past Worthy Matron of Mary Heyward Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; present member of Edgar Mole Chapter No. 239, O.E.S. in Hardeeville; Past Worthy Grand Matron 1967-1968 for the State of South Carolina and until her death she was the longest living Worthy Grand Matron in the State. She was involved in many civic activities in Ridgeland and Jasper County including the Jasper Chamber of Commerce and served as a Board Member for the Jasper County Council on Aging. Her proudest accomplishment was the construction of the new Senior Citizens Centers in Ridgeland and Hardeeville. She was compassionate about the people of Jasper County and endeavored to assist as many residents as possible. Nada is survived by her daughters, Anne W. O’Quinn of Ridgeland, SC and Nell W. Ryan (Billy) of Sheldon, SC; grandchildren, Robert Ryan (Michelle), Joel O’Quinn, Tselane Smith (Wayne), Ryder Ryan (Marci), Gerald O’Quinn (Christi), Wilbur O’Quinn, Stephanie Williams, Nada Lowther and Debbie Williams; great grandchildren, Colby Smith (Chris), Jamie Fitch (Dustin), Ashley Mock (Garrett), Allison O’Quinn, Hunter O’Quinn, Cliff O’Quinn, Hannah O’Quinn, Tristan Schwartz, Cameron Ryan, Clayton Ryan, Jasper Ryan and Keely Ryan: great great grandchildren, Christian Fitch and Caiden Fitch. She was predeceased by her brother, Billy K. Fort; her sister in law, Annelle Fort, her sister, Mary Nell Fort and grandchildren, Audrey Williams and Rachael Ryan. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Coosawhatchie Baptist Church with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
