Naomi Nix Garbade

Naomi N. GarbadeRidgeland, SCNaomi Nix Garbade, 100, widow of Henry George Garbade, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 in the Ridgeland Nursing Center in Ridgeland, SC.She was born July 27, 1909 in Nixville, SC to the late Victor Hugo Nix and Rose McKenzie Nix.She was a School Teacher; a graduate of Estill High School; 1931 graduate of Winthrop College; taught in the Jasper County School system for 35 years; member Delta Kappa Gamma and a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.She is survived by her son, Henry George (Jane) Garbade of Hartsville, SC; two daughters, Carol G. (Garbade) Carter of Ridgeland, SC; Gretchen G. (Bill) Carroll of Dataw Island, SC; three sisters, Bill (Rudolph) McCormack and Tina McCormack, both of Ridgeland, SC; JoAnn Drew of Fairmont, NC; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, SC with burial in Grahamville Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of service in the church parish.
