Nell Cooler Nichols, 99 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC.
She was born in Hardeeville, SC on April 1, 1916 to the late Arthur Edward and Viola A. Brabham Cooler. She was a member of the Red Dam Baptist Church where she served as the first church secretary when it was founded. She was a waitress at Stella Metcaff's Palmetto Grill and Johnny Fell's Palms Restaurant for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Shuman (Loderick) of Savannah, GA and Willie Mae Bryan of Ridgeland, SC; one brother, Arthur Cooler (Eula) of Hardeeville, SC; her sisters, Evelyn Harvey and Louise Daring both of Ridgeland, SC and Bertha Brogdan of Columbia, SC; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grands and one great great great grandchild. She was predeceased by one daughter, Doris Malphrus, and one brother, Ernest Cooler who died during the Normandy Invasion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 15, 2015 at Red Dam Baptist Church, Hardeeville, SC with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 til 8, Thursday evening at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
