Nellie Mae Wynona Austin-Heape, 73, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at her home in Ridgeland, SC. She was born in Charleston, SC on May 04, 1942 to the late Ernest Albert Austin and Celia Ellen Moore Austin. She was formerly employed at Holiday Wear and Union Carbide, both of Ridgeland; also at Ridgeland - Wagon Branch Day Care Center where she taught Senator Clementa Pinckney while he was a child and staying at the center. She was a member of the Family Harvest Pentecostal Church in Ridgeland, SC. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Mark Plough of Columbia, SC; James Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC; daughters, Gwendolyn Benton (Buddy) of Cross, SC; Emma Brabham (Vic) of Ridgeland, SC; Celia Grooms of Cross, SC; brothers, Raymond Austin of Ridgeville, SC; Wilbur Austin (Evelyn) of Holly Hill, SC; Ernest Ray Austin of San Pedro, CA; Lurleen Bunch of Holly Hill, SC; Jennie Overlock of Summerville, SC; Alberta Austin Cook of Aiken, SC; twenty one grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Cary W. Malphrus, III; daughter, Roxanna M. Marchant; brothers, Albert Austin, Edward Austin, Adam Austin; sisters, Ellen Powers and Julia Martin. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 pm, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, SC. The family will receive friends from 4 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
