Nicholas Eleftheriou

Nicholas Eleftheriou, 66, passed away peacefully at home in Bluffton, SC after a protracted battle with cancer. He was born in Lemnos , Greece on January 4th, 1948 to the late Vassilios and Angeliki Eleftheriou. The family came to the United States when Nick was 8 years old and settled in Queens, New York, where he graduated from the Fashion and Design Institute of Manhattan. Later becoming a US citizen and serving in the New York Army National Guard for 5 years. At the time of his death, Nick worked at Belfair Plantation Country Club for over 8 years as Food and Beverage Director. He loved the beach, fishing, working on his yard, cooking and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tami Pace Eleftheriou of Bluffton, SC; sons, Nicholas Eleftheriou of Charleston, SC; William and Christian Eleftheriou both of the home. Brothers, Jack (Joanne) Eleftheriou of Scarsdale, NY; Milton (Shabi) Eleftheriou and John (Debbie) Eleftheriou both of Queens, NY; and Vangelis (Roulla) Maimos of Flushing NY; Theo and Thea, Demetrios (Athanasia) Maimos of Queens , NY. Brothers in law; Steve Pace of Boone, NC and Jamie (Ashley) Bateman of Sumter, SC. Sister in Law; Annette Pace of Sumter, SC; Mother in law Bootsie Bateman of Manning, SC; Father in law; Steve (Nancy) Pace of Sumter, SC. Nieces' and Nephews; Jake, Angelika, Asha, Kayla, Yanni, Vassilaki , Nasia , Styliana, Camryn and Burns. Included with survivors; a very special friend, Ellie Lynch of Bluffton, SC. A celebration of Nick's Life will be held on September 22nd, 2014 at Belfair Plantation Country Club, 200 Belfair Oaks Blvd., Bluffton, SC. from 2-5pm on Monday afternoon. In Lieu of flowers, the family request Memorial donations be made to Hospice Care of the Low Country, 119 Palmetto Way, Bluffton, SC 29910. Brook's Bed & Biscuit Animal Shelter, 25 Buck Island Rd, Bluffton, SC 29910. American Cancer Society (Cancer Awareness Foundation) ,4375 Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton, SC 29910.
