Nora Jordan SmithSavannah, GANora Jordan Smith, 78, widow of John Foster Smith, slipped peacefully into eternal rest, October 10, 2007 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation in Savannah, GA.She was born in Colleton County on March 26, 1929. She was the daughter of the late James Alvin and Sally Lyons Jordan. Nora moved to Jasper County when she was three years old. She was a member of the Graduating Class of 1946 of Dear Old Ridgeland High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for 44 years; worked for the Jasper County tax commissioner and retired as town clerk from the town of Ridgeland. She was a member of The Ridgeland Advent Christian Church.She is survived by a sister and brother in law, Mary and Charles Hook of Savannah, GA; a niece and her husband Susan and Edgar Tedesco of Cape Coral, FL; a nephew, Charles Hook, Jr.; a great-niece and her husband, Kimberley and David Harper, two great nephews, Louis and Joshua Marston of Cape Coral, FL; two great great nephews, Austen Dylan Harper and Kegan Michael Harper, a great great niece, Kandence Mayre Harper; a stepdaughter and her husband, Johnnie Lee and David Witt of Hilton Head, SC; a step grandson and his wife, Richard and Beth Witt of Kingsport, TN; two step grandchildren, Robert and Rachel Witt of Kingsport, TN; step granddaughter and her husband, Cille and Chad Beauchamp of Bluffton, SC; two sisters in law, Mary Harden Jordan of Bloomingdale, GA and Marian Carter Jordan Berry of Ridgeland, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, James Holland Jordan and Ronald Peyton Jordan, Sr. and three nephews, Ronald Peyton Jordan, Jr., Baby Jordan and James Linwood Hook.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland, SC with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 til 7 pm, Friday, October 12, 2007 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Savannah, PO Box 131900, Savannah, GA 31416, The Ridgeland Advent Christian Church, PO Box 369, Ridgeland, SC 29936 or Riverview Health and Rehabilitation, 6711 LaRoche Ave., Savannah GA 31405.
