Norvin (Rick) Gilligan Jr., 63, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009 in the Memorial Medical University, Savannah, GA.He was born in Baltimore, MD on January 31, 1946. He was the son of the late Norvin and Mary Virginia Orrison Gilligan.He was an avid tennis player. He loved to travel. He attempted to play golf and enjoyed working with his hands in home restorations.He is survived by his wife, Darlene D. Gilligan of Hilton Head Island, SC; two sons, Jorge B. (Jennifer) Gilligan of Baltimore, MD and Joshua D. M. Gilligan of Hilton Head Island, SC; two daughters, Jennifer Anne Gilligan of Ormond Beach, FL and Julie C. Gilligan of Hilton Head Island, SC; and grandchildren, Alec Gilligan Webb, Logan Gilligan-Webb; Braeden Gilligan-Webb; Brooke T. Gilligan and Claire J. Gilligan.Memorial Services will be held at10:00 am, Thursday, October 8,2 009 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 351 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton, SC.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
