Oscar Manning Ruth

Oscar Manning Ruth, 54 years old, of Hardeeville, SC passed away on December 23, 2015 at Hilton Head Hospital on Hilton Head Island, SC. Oscar was born in Ridgeland, SC on June 6, 1961 to the late Oscar Ruth, Sr. and Ora Lee Stiney. He was employed at Franklin’s Tire Service of Hardeeville, SC. Oscar was a Christian and attended Sunday School at Fisher’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a jokester who also loved drag racing, fast vintage cars, and his drag racing buddies. A well-known member of the Hardeeville—Ridgeland Community, Oscar was loved by many. Oscar is survived by his daughter, Patty Mauldin of Hardeeville, SC; his son, Franklin Scanlon of Hardeeville, SC; brothers, William Clayton Jenkins of Jacksonville, FL and Marcus Lee Williams of Beaufort, SC; one sister, Jacqueline Williams of New York; his aunt, Barbara Landon of Pooler, GA; and uncle, Charles Robinson of Hardeeville, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Abundant Life Tabernacle, Hardeeville, SC with burial at Kirk Cemetery in Hardeeville, SC. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
