Owen Devoid Wilson Jr.

Chapin, SC - Owen D. Wilson, Jr., 79, passed away on April 15, 2022.  Born on August 29, 1942 in Savannah, GA to the late Owen Wilson, Sr. and the late Leola Richardson Wilson.  He graduated from Savannah High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in textile engineering from Georgia Tech.

Owen grew up a river rat in the May River.  He was an avid fisherman and sailor that enjoyed being on the water.  He retired from Allied Chemical after 30+ years of dedicated service.  Owen traveled many places during his career and enjoyed all the experiences he gained from it.  He loved spending time with his grandson giving him river rat training lessons.  He was a proud member of the Lakemont Hooligans and enjoyed time spent with his karaoke friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Stelljes Wilson; daughter, Ashley (John) Joiner; grandson, Josh (Nicole) Joiner, great - grandchildren, Riley Joiner, Kelsey Joiner, Landon Clamp, Logan Clamp, Payton Clamp, McKenzie Clamp, and Ansleigh Clamp; brother, Richard (Jeralyn) Wilson and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Owen Wilson, III.

The graveside service for Owen Wilson, Jr. will be held at 1 o’clock Friday, April 22 ^nd at Bluffton Cemetery, 1166 May River Rd, Bluffton SC 29910.  Sauls Funeral Home Bluffton is assisting the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leeza’s Care Connection, 201 St. Andrews Rd, Columbia, SC 29210
