Patricia Garrity

It is with great sadness that we inform our friends and family of the passing of our beloved wife, mother, family member, and friend, Patti Garrity.   Patti’s heavenly journey began on December 2nd, after a long illness which she bravely fought but eventually succumbed to.   At the time of her passing, Patti was at her home in Sun City, Bluffton SC, under dedicated and supportive Hospice Care, for whom we will always be very grateful.

Born December 26, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland, Patti spent much of her early adult years living in the Essex and then Timonium, Maryland areas, before moving with her husband to their home in Sun City where she spent many happy years making new friends and starting new endeavors in her busy life there.

Among her many activities, Patti attended the Church of the Cross, in Bluffton SC and was an active volunteer at GOD’s Goods Thrift Shop, also in Bluffton.  When she wasn’t busy with her volunteer activities, Patti enjoyed playing golf and was well known throughout her community for her holiday decorating skills, especially during the Christmas season, when she had the talent to come up with new and varied decorations and schemes each year.  Patti’s artistic talents were admired by many friends and family.   Patti enjoyed opening up her home to show her talented works and was always the perfect hostess to one and all who visited her home at Christmas time and beyond.

Patti was predeceased by her brothers Mark and Roger Weber.   And by her parents Arnold and Olga Weber.  She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, David Strain, her loving son, Kevin Garrity, loving stepdaughter Deborah Duvall and her husband Nathan Black, along with step grandchildren David Duvall, Trinity, Lea and Aria Black, along with brother and sister-in-law Neil and Linda Strain.

In remembrance of Patti, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
