Patricia "Pat" McKenna

January 23, 1925- February 24, 2021

Pat passed away at home on Wednesday Feb 24 due to natural causes. Pat was born in New Bedford MA in 1925 and she was married to James E. McKenna for 67 years. She was the daughter of Charles Palmer and Jane McLoughlin.

Pat moved to Hilton Head permanently about 30 years ago and fell in love with island living. Pat and Jim loved cruising around the island in their boat Boxer's pup and playing golf at Palmetto Dunes and later at the Bear Creek club where Pat won the club championship three times. During this time they met many friends and had a wonderful social life. Upon Jim's death Pat moved to the Cypress a residential community in Hilton Head plantation. There she met many new friends and stayed active playing golf, bridge and participating in many social activities.  She was especially happy when her son and daughter in law came down for Thanksgiving and Easter festivities. Pat would often head north for the month of August to be with her home town buddies.

Pat leaves her son James P. McKenna, daughter in law Sandra Mckenna, grandchildren, Seamus McKenna, Michael McKenna, and Carlin Moroney. Great grandchildren Ellen, Hannah and Katie Moroney; and her brother Charles Palmer (Martha) of Beverly, MA. The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the caregivers of the Cypress who lovingly cared for our mother over the past 3 months. We also wish to thank Hospice Care for their kindness and guidance in the last days of our mother's life.

Funeral arrangements are at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC. A memorial will be set at a future date.
