Patricia Mctague

October 8, 1935 — April 7, 2024

Patricia McTague, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully at the age of 88. She is survived by her husband, John Paul McTague, her five children, Margaret (Margie) Patches of Ambler, PA, John McTague of Burbank, CA, Richard (Rich) McTague of Unadilla, GA, Brendan McTague of Brick, NJ, and Christopher (Chris) McTague of Redding, CT, along with eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Born on October 8, 1935, to Francis J. Lynch and Elsi Forrester, Patricia was an eternal caregiver. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science (now Thomas Jefferson University), and an RN degree from Bryn Mawr Hospital. She would work as a registered nurse for 40 years, with roles as an ER nurse and a Nursing Coordinator for Abington Memorial Hospital, and later moving to the hospital's Lithotripsy Center and Visiting Nursing Group.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia was known for her ferocious spirit, infectious laughter, and deep kindness. On June 20, 1959, she married John McTague, beginning a journey of shared joys and triumphs. They settled in Hatboro, PA in 1961, and over four decades, built a home filled with love and ambition for their family. Everyone in Hatboro knew "Pat" as a force of nature, rooting for her children at swim meets, band competitions, and baseball games, and always making room at the dinner table for anyone who needed it.

In 1999, Patricia and John embarked on a new chapter, relocating to Sun City in Bluffton, SC, where they spent their retirement among friends, old and new. But Patricia's greatest joy was her family, and she poured her heart and soul into being a devoted wife, mother, "Nanny" to her grandchildren, and forever friend to those back home. She was always willing to trek across the continent to be there for the ones she loved.

Patricia's passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her memory will be cherished by the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. Her rip-roaring spirit and unending heart will live on in the memories of those she touched over the years.

A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on May 31, 2024, 10:30am at St Gregory the Great Church, 31 St Gregory Dr, Bluffton, SC 29909. Inurnment will follow at 1:00 pm at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort.

May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
