Patricia Okraski was born as Patricia Ann Langert on April 23, 1943 to the proud parents of Henry and Gladys (Evans) Langert in Manhattan, NY. Patricia is survived by her loving husband Richard and her most precious daughter Leigh Okraski, presently residing in Bethlehem, PA. She is also survived by her siblings, Irene Nicholas, Barbara Carlson, and Henry Langert. Both sisters and brother reside on Long Island, NY. Patricia is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Patricia earned her degree in computer science from Marist College located in Poughkeepsie, NY. She enjoyed employment with IBM from 1968 until her retirement in 1998. After departing IBM Patricia worked as an expert consultant in various computer languages. She did mark her final four years of work as a project leader for Depository Trust Clearing Corporation in New York City. Her saddest time was the direct viewing of the event of September 11. Pat prayed for the victims until she left us.
Patricia's greatest enjoyment was her family and friends. While living in Dutchess County, Patricia attended the Culinary Institute of America developing her skills providing delicious feasts. She enjoyed having a neighborhood cocktail party each year inviting both neighbors plus golf/skiing associates. Also at the end of the football season she had a game party, a real wild game food feast. The food and friends were always excellent.
Upon final retirement Patricia and Richard traveled the world. She traveled with friends from Poughkeepsie on skiing trips to Europe. She also traveled with new friends from Callawassie Island, SC. The destinations included Euorpe, Asia, the South Pacific, South America, Africa, the Caribbean, and of course our own great country the United States of America. Patricia Okraski will be remembered as a successful and happy woman.
