Patricia Ann (Owen) Owen Cook

Patricia (Owen) Cook, 89, gently passed away on 7/19/24. Pat was born and raised in Youngstown, OH and graduated from South High School in 1954. She was a bright and passionate woman who continued her education at the Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing and then at the University Hospital in Pittsburgh to become a nurse anesthetist. At that time she also met the love of her life, Shel Cook, and they were married for 53 years. She had a wonderful marriage and a busy and accomplished career, while also raising two daughters.

Later in life Pat and Shel moved to Sun City Hilton Head and had an active and fulfilling retirement. One of her favorite memories was hosting beach house week with the entire family. After Shel passed, Pat joined the VI Tidepointe Community and became enthusiastic about flower arranging and competitive trivia! Pat embraced southern culture and enjoyed connecting with and understanding people from all walks of life. She was an avid reader and always loved learning. And don’t forget shopping!

Pat is survived by her daughters Rebecca (Pat) and Leslie, her grandchildren Kelsey and Cade (a proud marine), her brother Will and wife Judy. She was preceded in death by her parents Owen and Lena, brother Jack, and her beloved husband Sheldon. She will be missed.
