Patricia Ann Thomas Gibbes

Patricia Ann Thomas Gibbes, 84, of Hilton Head Island and wife of Charles Walker Gibbes passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 in the Hilton Head Medical Center.She was born in Wabash, Indiana on October 16, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Minerva Milam Thomas.She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Church of Pocantico Hills, NY where she sang in the church choir. She sang in the sanctuary choir and New Voices Choir at the First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island. She was a member of the Island Singers. She was President of the Auxiliary of Westchester Medical Center. She was an accomplished equestrienne and was active in fashion modeling in Chicago, IL.She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles W. Gibbes of Hilton Head Island; two sons, Brian P. (Florry) Gibbes of Hilton Head Island and Douglas Charles (Linda) Gibbes of Bluffton; one daughter, Pamela Gibbes (Robert) Leihbacher of Bluffton; and grandchildren, Courtney A. Gibbes, Allison B. Gibbes, Alana Leihbacher, Kaylee Leihbacher and Adam Leihbacher. She predeceased by one brother, Terry L. Thomas.Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2011 in the First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island.The family requests memorial gifts be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
