Paul Dargan Gill Jr., 90 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC. He was born in Ridgeland, SC on May 5, 1919. He was the son of the late P. Dargan and Indie Woods Gill.He was a retired Lt. Colonel, US Air Force, who served in World War II and Korea. He flew fifty combat missions during the Korean War. He was a former Municipal Judge for Town of Ridgeland; member of the American Masonic Lodge #98 where he served as Secretary for many years. He was a member of the American Legion; and the Jasper County Historical Society. He was a member of the Ridgeland Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was the former Accessor for Jasper County. He was an avid shad fisherman.He is survived by his wife, June W. Gill of Ridgeland, SC; one son, Paul D. (Pam) Gill, III of Columbia, SC; one brother, Alfred E. Gill of Beaufort, SC; one sister, Lorraine Hurley of Sacramento, CA; one granddaughter, Meredith E. J. Gill of Columbia, SC and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Doris Nation and Glennie Snyder.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, June 22, 2009 in the Ridgeland Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service at Ridgeland Baptist Church.
