Paul Joseph New-Day

February 25, 1948 — May 14, 2024

Bluffton

Paul Joseph New-Day was welcomed into eternity with his Savior on the morning of Wednesday, May 14, 2024.  Beyond anything else, Paul was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ.  He believed that Christ died for his sins, and he rested in the hope that Christ rose on the third day.  This belief permeated his life.  It drove him to a desire for God’s word, a deep love for his family, a dedicated work ethic, and a commitment to serve God’s church.

Affectionately called “Joe” by those closest to him, Paul grew up in the Midwest playing football and spooning for catfish.  He started driving trucks as a young man and continued making deliveries for various companies most of his life.  While out on the road, Paul met his wife Debbie, and they settled down to start a family in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  During their time in Hershey, Paul and Debbie heard the gospel and placed their faith in Jesus Christ.  Paul’s conversion led him to pursue a relationship with God through the Bible. Amazingly, Paul learned to read using a King James Bible.  Through His word, God shaped him into a godly man who loved and served his wife faithfully to the end.  This instilled in him a love for his kids, which revealed itself through providing for them, setting a godly example, coaching soccer, and praying for them without ceasing.

Paul loved going to the beach with his family, surf fishing, doing projects around the house, working with the “build-team” at church, and teaching the Bible anytime he had the opportunity.  He loved debating religion and politics with anyone who would give him an ear. He also loved to laugh. He was simply a great, godly guy who was dedicated to his Lord and loved his family.  As hard as his loss is for us who remain, Paul’s example remains.  During his short battle with Leukemia, Paul said, “I’m resting in my Lord.”  Paul Joseph New-Day is now doing just that, resting in the presence of his Savior for eternity.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie; his children Kristina (Mike) Miosi, Britney, Danielle, and Holly (Laura); as well as his 7 grandchildren Josiah, Kaitlyn, Kayla, Ella, Lindsay, Harper, and Noah.  Paul was preceded in his entrance into eternity by his daughter Tiffany Beachell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 2:00 PM at Lowcountry Community Church 801 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton, SC 29910.  Paul’s family will gather for a private graveside service following the memorial service.
