Paul R. McGee, Jr. (Sam), 89, of Hardeeville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Paul was born on December 21, 1936, in Malden, Massachusetts, to the late Paul R. McGee, Sr. and Margaret Carnes McGee. Paul grew up in Everett, Massachusetts, with his two younger brothers, Bill, and Bob, and graduated from Boston College High School. After graduation, Paul earned a degree in accounting from Bentley College. He proudly served as an active member of the United States Army, an experience that shaped his strong sense of discipline and responsibility. Following his military service, Paul began his professional career in accounting and business operations and later operated an office machine business, which he ran successfully for many years.
Paul married the love of his life, Elaine M. Corcoran, on November 14, 1959. Together, they raised their family in Melrose, Massachusetts, where Paul lived for more than 50 years. In retirement, Paul and Elaine relocated to the South Carolina Lowcountry, where they enjoyed spending time together in a place they loved.
Paul enjoyed woodworking, fine spirits, and sharing time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his keen attention to detail, quick-witted sense of humor, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, such as his love for cooking the perfect steak and touring with Flounder Transportation.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Kathleen M. Farrell of Melrose, Massachusetts; his sons, Steven J. McGee and his wife, Marie, of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Brian T. McGee and his wife, Tonilyn, of Wakefield, Massachusetts; and his seven beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Zackary, Colleen, Andrew, Molly, and Sean.
