Paulette (Cookie) Goly died on November 1, 2016. Born in Greenfield, Massachusetts June 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Behaylo) Goly.
She was a graduate of Greenfield High School and Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, was honored as a Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities upon graduation, and taught Physical Education at Troy High School until moving to South Carolina in 1996.
She as a Mariner Scout throughtout high school and also played semi-pro softball under legendary Royalette Coach Vi Goodnow. Cookie was an accomplished accordionist, having begun studying music at age 5, and enjoyed playing the accordion and piano until her death. She was a member of the Russell Sage College acapella singing group, The Sagettes. She loved the game of golf and was a member of The Country Club of Spartanburg, in Spartanburg, SC and Hampton Hall Club in Bluffton, SC.
Cookie leaves 25 Behaylo/Goly cousins and loved her Brunette family and her partner of many years, Donna Brunette, who gave me the best life I could have ever been given. Cookie’s Brunette family include Susan (Steven Bouchey), Jeanne and my godson Patrick (Bill McCarthy), Michael (Eileen) Brunette and Paul (Dawn) Brunette and all their children.
My closest cousin, Pappofinik, was my rock, and I love you!
In lieu of flowers we would like donations to the Morningstar Animal Rescue at 1626 Bees Creek Road, Ridgeland, SC 29936. Anyone who knew Cookie knew that helping animals was her passion and love.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
