Peggy Sue Thomasson Wine, 75, died peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2008 in Bluffton, South Carolina. She lived a full and happy life and was always there to help make sure others did as well. She will be missed by all who enjoyed her love, friendship, honesty and humor.Peggy was born December 10, 1932 in Martinsville, Virginia, youngest daughter of James Everett Thomasson and Martha Clarice Byrd Thomasson. She attended Bassett High School and later worked for the government at Philpot Dam. In 1956, she married the late Eugene Grey Wine. Gene and Peggy enjoyed 51 years together, raising a professional family that includes an architect, an attorney and a college professor. She loved to cook, sew and read. Her affinity for cats and gardening are legendary. And her iron will was equally matched by her heart of gold. Peggy is survived by her sister, Hilda Gray Plaster; her brother, James Marshall Thomasson; her son, James Clayton Wine and his wife Debbie, of Charleston, SC; her daughter, Martha Cheryl Wine of Bluffton, SC; her daughter, Teresa Carol Hamilton and her husband, Dave, of Harrisonburg, VA; her stepson, Eugene Grey Wine, II and his wife, Harriett, of Roanoke VA, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Carl, Landis, Brian, Kathryn, Matthew, Sarah, Trey, Travis, Michael, and Tyler.
