Peggy Ann Upton (Socha)

Peggy Ann Upton, a woman of unwavering faith, a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and loving sister and sister-in-law, was born to the late Harold R. Socha and Maxine I. Socha (Helm) on October 21, 1955, and went home to Jesus on April 20, 2026, where she was reunited with family members.

Peggy is survived by her beloved husband, Barrett (Barry) Douglas Upton, who she was married to for 52 years, her loving children, Jennifer Upton Morgan and Douglas (Jennifer) Upton, her adoring grandchildren, Georgia, Graham, Greta Morgan, Everly and Blake Upton, and her loving sister and brother-in-law Gail and Vincent Minauro. She was the loving “pup mom” of her two Labrador Retrievers, Kodiak and Yukon.

Peggy worked tirelessly for over 20 years as a CPA at major accounting firms in Michigan, Virginia, and North Carolina. In her leisure time, she enjoyed, skiing, cooking and baking with her children when they were younger. Her hobbies included reading, photography, ceramics, gardening and needlework. Peggy’s legacy is one of faith, love and boundless creativity. Her memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family.

Services will be held at Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton on Thursday, April 30, 2026, with visitation starting at 12:00 pm, and funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice in Peggy's honor.
