Percy Alfred Sauls, age 86, of Hardeeville, S.C. died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Ralph Johnson V.A. Hospital in Charleston, S.C. after an extended illness. Mr. Sauls was born on March 12, 1929 in Ridgeland, S.C. He was baptized at Great Swamp Baptist Church where he was an active member. He was a graduate of Ridgeland High School, Class of 1946 and joined the US Army after graduation. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II where he served in Korea. He married Rosa Lee Cooler in 1952 in Great Swamp Baptist Church. Mr. Sauls was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church in Savannah, GA and a present member of Hardeeville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 58 years and received the Deacon Emeritus plaque on June 28, 2015. He retired from International Paper after 43 years of service. After retirement Mr. Sauls worked as a driver for O.C. Welch. Percy is survived by his bride of 62 years, Rosa Lee Cooler Sauls of Hardeeville; his daughter, Sarah Alfreda Sauls Bradham (John W. III) of Georgetown, SC; brothers, H.B. Sauls of Kingstree, SC, Norris Sauls of Neeses, SC and Robert Sauls of Ridgeland; sisters, Hilda Myrtle Sauls Brewer of Hartsville, SC and Dorothy Elizabeth Sauls Tindal of Ridgeland; and grandchildren, Joshua Lewis Bradham, Ana Ruth Bradham and John Owen Bradham. He was predeceased by his brother, James Wesley Sauls. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Hardeeville Baptist Church with burial following at Maye River Cemetery. The Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or Gideons International, 2005 Buremda Run, Summerville, SC 29483.A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Hardeeville Baptist Church with burial following at Maye River Cemetery.
