Percy Lee Weldy Jr.

Percy Lee Weldy Jr, of Savannah, GA, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home in Bluffton, SC. He is survived by his wife Norma (Boroughs) Weldy, his children Tracy L. Leatherman, Jay S. Weldy, C. Amber Weldy and Jenny L. Weldy, and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Percy Lee Weldy Sr., his mother Nellie (Walker) Weldy and his step-mother Mable (Davis) Weldy. Lee was born on October 11, 1937 and graduated from Savannah High School in the class of 1955 before attending Armstrong College. He was a retired small business owner who operated a floor covering business in the Lowcountry for over 30 years. Counted among his many contributions and accomplishments are his service in the Air Force Reserves and his 1961 Putt-Putt National Championship title. Lee loved spending his time golfing, fishing, building things, solving puzzles and regaling his family and friends with stories of epic proportion. He was a kind man who was loved by all, and will never be forgotten. A celebration of Lee’s life will be held 3/24/18 at 2PM at Colleton Point Pavillion in Rose Hill Plantation, 1 Pavillion Dr., Bluffton, SC. (Remembrances to Island Hospice or charity of your choice)
