Bluffton, South Carolina – Peter Joseph DiSanto, 71, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by has family on, Thursday, July 14, in Bluffton, South Carolina. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sandra Bordonaro DiSanto of Bluffton, South Carolina and Hyde Park, MA. He was the devoted father to Gabrielle Tavalone, Peter Gregory DiSanto, Francesca Allegrezza, and Angelica DiSanto and proud grandfather to Peter Kenneth DiSanto, David Joseph DiSanto, Isabella Rose Gaudreau, Blaise Joseph Gaudreau, Violetta Allegrezza and father-in-law to Karen Kazarosian DiSanto, Michael Tavalone, and Mark Allegrezza. He was the brother to Joseph Pasciuto, Virginia Gaughan and Mark DiSanto. He was ‘Uncle Dad’ to Victoria Rampino, godfather to Daniel Gaughan, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a great friend to so many.
He was born and raised in Boston, MA where he met his wife, Sandra. Shortly after high school, he joined the US Navy and served two tours of duty on board the USS Lang DE-1060. He worked at Polaroid for 35+ years while he raised his family in the suburbs of Boston. In his later years, after he moved to South Carolina, he was an avid golfer and community member. He was an active member of the Rose Hill MGA League, the Knights of Columbus, participated in local Vietnam Veteran gatherings and enjoyed playing Santa Claus. When he wasn’t golfing, he was traveling with his wife, Sandra, to visit his children, who live across the US, in Texas, Alaska, West Virginia and South Carolina.
Undoubtedly, family was the most important thing in his life and he left us with the traditions and love of family that will live on in the years ahead. He was an inspirational man who enriched the lives of all he met. He will be deeply missed and joyously remembered.
