Peter J. Pronko III

Jun 22, 1948 — Jul 10, 2026

Port Royal

Peter J. Pronko III, 78, a resident of Maynard, Massachusetts for 75 years, died peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Port Royal, South Carolina, surrounded by his children. He was the beloved husband of Andrea (Coan) Pronko. They were married on April 28, 1973.

Peter was born June 22, 1948, in Concord, Massachusetts, to Peter and Eloise Pronko, who predeceased him. He grew up on Roosevelt Street in Maynard and was a longtime member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church. He attended Rose Hawthorne Parochial School and Xavier Jesuit High School in Concord, graduated from St. Anselm's College in Manchester, New Hampshire, and later in life earned a culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. He spent over 40 years working for Raytheon.

Peter was a man of wide-ranging curiosity and unrestrained enthusiasm for his passions. He was an avid reader, drawn to books on politics, history, religion, and, of course, cooking. Above all, those who knew him knew him for his love of cooking, an obsession he pursued with real passion, though he also threw himself wholeheartedly into fishing, fly-tying, and drawing.

Peter and Andrea cherished the north country, spending as much time as they could in New Hampshire's Lakes Region and White Mountains.

Peter is survived by his wife, Andrea; their four children, Peter IV and his wife Dawn of Longwood, Florida, Kristen and her husband Derek Benoit of Bluffton, South Carolina, Eric and his wife Kara of Glendale, Arizona, and Caitlyn Pronko of Bluffton, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Tazi and Peter V of Longwood, Florida, Chandler of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Connor, Patrick, and David of Glendale, Arizona; and his twin brother, James E. Pronko, and his wife Janice, of Holliston, Massachusetts.

“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live.” (John 11:25, NAB)

May Peter rest in the peace of Christ, and may perpetual light shine upon him.

Funeral services and interment will be held at a later date in Maynard, Massachusetts.
