Peter Deane Strong Sr.

Peter Deane Strong Sr, 48 of Smithfield, RI and previously of Stratford, CT and Bluffton, SC died on April 14, 2010 at the Rhode Island Trauma Center as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident.He was the son of the late William Jefferson Strong and Donna Strong of Statesboro, GA. He was a former Firefighter and Paramedic with the Sea Pines Forest Beach Fire Department and the Hilton Head Island Fire Department. He was also a past coach with the Bluffton Bulldogs and PALS in Bluffton. He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast. He was also a devoted fan of the NY Mets.Peter is survived by his son, Peter Deane Strong Jr. of Bluffton, SC; daughter, Amy Strong (Cliff) Pevey of Statesboro, GA; brothers, Thomas (Debra) of Oxford, CT and David of Daytona Beach, FL; grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Pevey of Statesboro and the Berkeley and Giaquinto families of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his brother, William J. Strong Jr. and sister, Leeann Strong.The family will receive friends from 2 til 4, Saturday afternoon, May 22, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with their arrangements.
