Peter David York

Peter David York, age 59, passed away peacefully at his home on December 24, 2020. Peter was born February 21, 1961 in Tacoma, WA to Milton and Claudia York, who preceded him in death.

Peter graduated from Hayfield High School in Alexandria, VA in 1979 and from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 1983. He had a successful and rewarding career at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division, in Orlando, FL where he worked for 32 years as an electrical engineer and cost analyst.

Peter was a loving husband and father who cherished his family and friends. He was always eager to lend a hand and enjoyed being involved in his community. He dedicated many years to volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America and gave his time and energy to countless other service organizations. Upon retirement, he remained active in his community and homeowner’s association.

Peter is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kimberly York, son Tyler York, sister Shari York and her husband Fred DaSilva, their children Christina and Danielle DaSilva, and several nieces and nephews who he enjoyed spoiling and loved deeply.

Services to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at a time in the future when friends and family are able to attend safely.
