Philip Schmidt

Philip Frederick Schmidt, 85 of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Norristown, PA, passed away December 27, 2010 at Carolina House of Bluffton.He was born on April 2, 1925 in Camden, NJ. He was the son of the late Philip and Elizabeth Beringer Schmidt. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served in the Pacific during WWII. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Jean Schmidt of Bluffton, SC; three children, Christine Perkins Halterman, Nancy Horning, and Philip F. Schmidt, Jr; and three grandchildren. A church service to be held later in May in Pennsylvania. The family requests memorial gifts be made in his memory to the Carolina House of Bluffton/Clare Bridge, 800 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
