Bluffton

Phillip Anthony Morreo, known affectionately as Phil, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Bluffton, South Carolina, at the age of 77. Born on January 8, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts. Phil began his career with GE and went on to become the President/CEO of Emergi Lite, one of the world's largest emergency lighting manufacturers. After thirty-five years of working at Emergi Lite, he retired with his wife to Bluffton, South Carolina. Phil was a passionate golfer. One of his crowning achievements was getting not one, but two hole in ones on the same round. Phil was an avid Boston sports fan. One of his favorite sports moments was taking Gregory to Super Bowl XXXVIII to see the Patriots win their second Super Bowl. Many would say Phil was the life of the party. He would tell countless stories that would have his friends laughing for hours. The thing he loved more than anything was his family. Phil was passionate about doing anything he could to take care of his family. Phil is survived by his wife of forty years, Dee Dee Morreo; his two children Gregory Morreo, and Kiely Morreo; and his sister Sally O'Connell. He was preceded in passing by his parents Tony and Mary Morreo. The funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on July 15th at 10:30 am in Bluffton, South Carolina. The reception will be held at Riverbend Lodge in Sun City following the mass. In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorial contributions may be made in Phil's name to St. Jude's Research hospital. Live streaming of the mass will be available at sgg.cc at 10:30 am.
