Phyllis Jean Ball

Phyllis Jean Ball passed peacefully on April 10th, 2026 at home, surrounded by loved ones at Harbor Cove Memory Care facility on Hilton Head Island, SC. She passed due to complications from dementia.

Phyllis hales from Reading, PA and was born on October 25, 1943 the daughter of Doris M. and Harold C. Brown. Phyllis was the devoted wife to Stanley Ball for 58 years and widowed for the past three years. She was the loving mother to Scott R. Ball and Christopher M. Ball. She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Abend (Carl) and brother, Terrance Brown (Patricia). She is also survived by sons Scott Ball (Courtney) and Christopher Ball (Laurie), five grandchildren, and many nieces/nephews, in laws and countless friends.

Phyllis attended and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in interior design. This is also where she would meet her future husband, Stanley Ball. The couple moved to Pittsburg, PA where Stanley worked as a civil engineer and Phyllis would open a womens clothing boutique and juggle motherhood. Phyllis and Stanley would live in the Pittsburgh area for 53 years before retiring to Bluffton, SC in 2017.

Phyllis enjoyed dining out, loved shopping and spending time with her husband, son Chris and daughter-in-law Laurie.
