Raymond Dominick, 79, of Bluffton, SC, died Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Friends of Caroline hospice.
He was born on October 18, 1945 in Atlanta, GA to the late Raymond H. Dominick, Jr. and Anne Dominick.
He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the University of North Carolina. Upon earning his doctorate, he became a Professor of European History at the Ohio State University, where he taught for 30 years.
Upon retiring, Raymond and his wife moved to Bluffton, SC, where he continued to teach for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
He had an artist’s sensibility, which was manifested in painting, woodworking and gardening. He was a world traveler, who loved tennis, golf, biking, and living close to the beach. Raymond will be remembered for his wisdom, humor and commitment to the environment and education.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynn, and son, David. Also surviving are his sister, MaryAnne Mitchum, of Pensacola, FL and brother, Patrick Dominick, of Jackson, WY.
