Raymond Jeff Scott

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father and brother, Raymond Jeff Scott who passed away on December 2, 2023 at the age of 68 after a short illness.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Grizzard Scott, father, George Harris Scott, sisters, Glenda McNear and Linda Scott.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters, Amber Scott and Emily Scott. His granddaughter, Marley Rae Scott, sister, June Simoneaux and her husband, Lee, aunts, Barbra Scott and Laverene Scott, nieces and a nephew.

Jeff graduated from Groves High School Class of 1973. Jeff spent most his life building the family business, Scott Meats in Bluffton from 1964 – 2000.  Jeff taught his skills as a meat cutter to anyone who wanted to learn.  Several of his co-workers went on to make meat cutting their careers.

Jeff loved Bluffton, May River and the friends he made over the years.  He enjoyed cooking and planting a garden every year.  His favorite thing to do was taking care of his beloved granddaughter, Marley.  They cheered on his Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons and watched her favorite Disney movies together.

Let us remember Jeff as the loving soul he was, the indelible mark he left on our lives and the joy to all that knew him.

May his spirit rest in eternal peace.

The family will receive friends on from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC.  In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Jeff’s name to your favorite charity.
