Reba Annie Floyd, age 86, of Hardeeville, SC died Monday, July 6, 2015 at Hilton Head Hospital.
Mrs. Floyd was born on June 16, 1929 in Cottageville, SC, the daughter of the late Robert A. Ackerman and Corrie Lee Redman Ackerman. She was an outstanding high school basketball player. She was a longtime employee with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of South Carolina and was also employed at the Hardeeville Senior Citizens Center for many years. She was a member of Hardeeville Baptist Church where she was an active member of the church choir. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, "Bill" in both fresh and salt water and she loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Henry Thomas Floyd, Sr.; sons, Robert Earl Floyd and William Henry Thomas Floyd, Jr.; sisters, Sally Rhode, and Eunice Drennon; and her grandson, Matt. She is survived by her sons, Patrick Michael Floyd (Wendy) of St. Petersburg, FL, Raymond A. Floyd (Ann Gillespie) of Columbia, SC, and Joseph A. Floyd (Kim) of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Annie Reba Floyd of Monticello, IN; sisters, Jennie Barton (Ed) of Columbia, SC and Gwen Buchanan of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Jimmy, Jackie, Heather, Michael, Kimberly, Brian, Wendy, Christie, Andy, Diane, Nikki, and Andrew; and many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, July 10, 2015 at Hardeeville Baptist Church, Hardeeville, SC. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
