Rebecca Morris, 76, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 12th, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. Becky was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, the first-born child of Doug and Kathleen Beavers, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana Central University in 1965. Becky went on to dedicate the next 50 years to selflessly caring for others as a registered nurse.
Becky moved to Bluffton, SC in 1986 with her loving husband, John Morris, of 51 years. For the next 28 years, Becky worked as an operating room nurse, and later as the cardiovascular operating room coordinator, at the Hilton Head Hospital where she played an instrumental role in advancing the cardiovascular surgery program to where it is today. Following her retirement from nursing in 2015, she spent her time savoring the beauty of the Low Country beaches she loved so much and sharing it with others through her passion for nature photography. Although the magnitude of the impact Becky had on those lucky enough to know her cannot be articulated into words, she is most commonly described as a compassionate, gracious, insightful, hard-working woman with a witty sense of humor and unmatched dedication to her family and friends.
Rebecca Morris is preceded in death by her father [Doug Beavers] and son [Tommy Morris]. She is survived by her husband [John Morris], mother [Kathleen Beavers], daughter [Elizabeth Liggett], granddaughter [Madison Field], and her two sisters [Janet Harrold, Barbara Hardin].
