Rex Emerson Goethe

Rex Emerson Goethe, age 62, of Bluffton, SC died Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Mr. Goethe was born on June 28, 1954 in the Mariana Islands of Guam. Rex was a longtime employee of TidePointe, retiring as an Executive Housekeeper. Prior to retiring he achieved the Certified Hospitality Housekeeping Executive (CHHE®) certification. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence C. Goethe. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean C. Goethe; sons, Rex E. Goethe, II (Frances) and William Lance Goethe; mother, Olivia Ann Hudson Goethe; brothers, Ray Goethe (Terry) and Mark Goethe; sisters, Rosalind Smith (C.L. “Bubba”) and Kay Highberger (Johnny); and grandchildren, Samantha Jean Goethe and Rex E. Goethe, III. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Bluffton Cemetery.
