Richard Michael Boccabella formerly of Bellaire, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023, in Hilton Head Island, SC. He was 87 years old.

Richard was born on June 10, 1936, in Bellaire, Ohio to the late Richard M Boccabella and Mildred (Porter). He was a graduate of Bellaire High School, Class of 1954 and earned his college degree at West Liberty State College. He was retired from the Ormet Corporation in Hannibal, Ohio with corporate headquarters in Wheeling, WV, where he was the Vice President of Purchasing and Traffic.

He married the woman of his dreams who was his high school sweetheart, Marlene (Snider). Their marriage was like two white swans swimming on a pond, always together and never too far apart. His only regret was he didn’t meet Marlene sooner because he could have loved her longer. After retirement they moved to Hilton Head Island, SC. Together they enjoyed many years travelling to various countries in Europe, Asia and Australia. He was a member of St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. He was a Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his loving wife Marlene of 51 years and an infant son David.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Dalena of Moon Township, PA, son Michael Todd Boccabella of Barrington, IL and brother Robert Boccabella of Kelseyville, CA as well as five grandchildren, Michael Dalena, Rachel Dalena, Julia Boccabella, Anthony Boccabella and Mathew Boccabella, several nephews and a niece.

Though his family is deeply saddened by this loss, a mass at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bellaire, OH and a celebration of Richard’s life will be held at a later date with inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, WV.
