Richard Bowen

Richard Bowen, age 80, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Jacksonville, FL died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center. Mr. Bowen was born on April 17, 1935 in Whiteville, NC, the son of the late Allie Bowen and Bessie Hobbs Bowen. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Graybar Electric Company where he retired in operations management after many years of service. Mr. Bowen is survived by his wife, Teresa Bowen; daughter and son-in-law Sunny and Jake McCain of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Carolyn Barnhill of Wilmington, NC; Grandchildren, Kristi Lewis and Cory and Bo Deickmeyer of Austin, TX and a great grandson, Leander Deickmeyer. A graveside funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Lung Association.
