Richard Cerreta, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, surrounded by his loving family.
A devoted husband, father, brother, Papa, uncle, friend, and colleague, Richard was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was born on January 22, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Angelo Rocco Cerreta and Dorothy “Diamond” Cerreta of Easton, PA.
Richard began his professional life as a musician before dedicating 37 years to IBM, where he served as a respected Practice Leader. Following his retirement, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time on the golf course and cruising with his beloved wife, Stella.
Richard was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents, Angelo and Dorothy, and his brother-in-law, Charles Garone.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stella Cerreta; daughter, Angela Cerreta Stum, and her husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Jillian and Hunter Dysart; brother, Ronald Cerreta, and his wife, Emily; sister, Anne Garone; and many beloved extended family members.
A man of quiet strength, quick wit, and unwavering love for his family, Richard will be remembered for the full life he lived and the lasting memories he helped create.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many friends who visited and offered comfort over the past two difficult years. A special thank you goes to Charisse Reid, Richard’s caregiver over the past year, for her exceptional love, care, and companionship.
