Richard Francis Holmes, Sr.

Richard Francis Holmes Sr., 60 of St. Helena Island, SC passed away on August 12, 2016 at Candler Hospital, Savannah, GA.

Mr. Holmes was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 1, 1956 to the late Ben Norman Holmes and Ann Christine Francis Holmes. He was a truck driver for Loaded and Gone Trucking Company of Savannah, GA and enjoyed constructing model cars.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn G. Holmes of St. Helena, SC; three sons, Richard F. Holmes II of Dunn, NC, Benjamin H. Holmes (Julie) of Bluffton, SC and Donnie Wayne Gales (Heather) of Columbia, SC; one daughter Catrina L. Peed of Hilton Head Island, SC; one sister, Brenda Norean Champ (Douglas) of Hobsville, NC and grandchildren, Richard III, Katelyn, Amanda, Joseph, Jacob, Zachery, Jordan, Ne’Vayeh and Mason.

Memorial services for Mr. Holmes will be held at a later date.
