Richard Burt Meyer

Richard Burt Meyer, age 86, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at his home in Bluffton, SC. Mr. Meyer was born on November 11, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Frank Meyer and Bertha Durks Meyer. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He worked for many years with Union Oil as a Oil Research Geologist. He was of Lutheran faith and enjoyed woodworking and sailing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar F. Meyer. He is survived by his sons, Stephen C. Meyer (Linda Sue) of Deland, FL and Dean L. Meyer of Coatsville, PA; daughter, Judy Lodge of Lewes, DE; grandchildren, Christopher Meyer, Zack Meyer, Ryan Meyer, Laura Meyer, Bradley Meyer, Arthur Lodge, Jr., and William Lodge; and great-grandchildren, Parker Meyer and Adelyn Meyer.
