Richard Randolph Smith

Richard Randolph Smith, 71 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC. He was born in Savannah, GA on February 3, 1943 to the late Marion Randolph and Annie Mae Mulligan Smith. He was retired from the Hilton Head Public Service District #1 after 28 years of service. He was a Christian. He enjoyed boating and fishing especially in the Santee - Cooper Lakes. He was a US Air Force Vietnam veteran. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Hilf Smith of Bluffton, SC; two sons, Brian Shaun Smith of Kenova, WVA and Travis Scott Smith of Columbia, SC; one sister in law, Frances Smith of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Amanda Dawn Cunningham (Derrick), Amber Nicole Smith, Madison Riley Smith and Tyson Smith and one great grandchild, Sophie Marie Cunningham. He was predeceased by his brother, Marion Eugene Smith. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Bluffton Cemetery, Bluffton, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am til the hour of the service at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. Memorial donations may be sent to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or Bluffton Cemetery Fund, 17 Stock Farm Rd., Bluffton, SC 29910. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Bluffton Cemetery, Bluffton, SC.
