Rita Elizabeth Lowther Rogers

Rita Elizabeth Lowther Rogers, 63, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC.She was born March 14, 1947 in Ridgeland, SC. She was the daughter of the late C. Eugene Lowther and Vivian Saxon Lowther.She was a Registered Nurse and former Director of Nursing at Ridgeland Nursing Center; member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served as a Sunday School teacher and seminary teacher; an avid relic hunter of Civil War and earlier memorabilia; beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend.She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Allyson Rogers and Jennifer Rogers Bergmann, both of Bluffton, SC; Kimberly Dargan Rogers of Savannah, GA; five brothers, Eugene Lowther, Jr., Clark Lowther, LeGrand (Libby) Lowther and Mitchell (Carmen) Lowther, all of Ridgeland, SC; Mark (Susan) Lowther of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Genie L. (Jerry) Tillotson and Sandra L. Turpin, both of Ridgeland, SC and two grandchildren, William Coulter Bergmann and Isabel Bergmann.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 917 Grays Highway in Ridgeland, SC with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 til 8 pm, Friday, July 16, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
