Robert J. €Œbob” Benner

Robert J. "Bob" Benner passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Hilton Head Hospital after a battle with cancer with his loving fiancé of 12 years, Pam Byrd by his side. Bob was born in Medina, Ohio and lived on the island and Bluffton for 36 years. Bob retired from Harley Davidson-Savannah, GA as a Master Technician in 2011 and continued to work security at The Lodge in the Triangle on the island. Bob was a lifelong Harley rider and enjoyed his passion of building and customizing his Harleys and trucks. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred A. Benner (Oct., 2013) and nephews, Samuel and Sean Benner. He is survived by his beloved fiancé, Pam Byrd; his father, Kenneth J. Benner; brothers, Leonard (Rebekah) Benner, Tom (Shiela) Benner, and Ken (Judy) Benner; and sister, Dorothy (Felix) DeAngeles. We were blessed to have him in our lives. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910 on Saturday, November 8th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Casual attire is appreciated and Harleys are welcome.
