Robert Guy Bashore

Robert Guy Bashore, 87, of Bluffton died August 12, 2012 at NHC-Bluffton, SC.He was born on May 28, 1925 in Minersville, PA the son of the late Dr. Robert Guy Bashore, Sr. and Verna Leonhard Bashore.He was a US Navy veteran. He served for 26 years with Peoples Natural Gas Company in Pittsburgh, PA in various executive positions. He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in Chester, PA. He was a member of the Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club and Sun City Veterans Association. Some of his many interests were the Steelers, tennis, bocce, bowling, big band music, travel and family.He is survived by his son, Robert G. Bashore, III of Claymont, DE; daughters Jane (Jim) Perry of Sanford, FL and Virginia (Dave) Covington of Beaver, PA; a special friend, Patricia Penkethman and grandchildren, Barry (Becky) Covington, Robby Covington, Dan Covington, Michelle Perry, Mathew Perry and Benjamin Bashore.He will always be remembered for his amazing love for his family and friends, sense of humor and love of life.A graveside memorial service will be held in Pittsburgh at a later date.
